This year I spontaneously decided to throw myself into the ever popular take-one-picture-of-a-toy-every-day challenge! Which I have seen go by many names. I have decided to go with A Doll A Day, because dolls are what I will be taking pictures of. What counts as a doll, though, is entirely up to me. So far all the photos have been taken with my smartphone because I need it to be convenient in order for this to be something I do every day, but I don't have a particular rule about this. I hope to update the Dreamshelf every week or so with how the project is coming along! Starting NOW!!!

DAY 1: My newest doll, Jacques, putting away his Christmas decoration.

Hello dollfriends! The profiles page is now semi-up to date. As in, I do believe all my big-headed dolls are now listed there, but many profiles are still under construction. But it's a start!

Here's a random little photoshoot I had with Dolly. She's supposed to be a wonky marionette type doll, so I got creative and made her leg brace type thingies out of stuff from the crafts store. What is that she is sitting on?

So here they are, the long awaited tour of my dollhouse, The Dreamshelf! Unfortunately, all the pictures had to be taken with flash for clarity. Sniff... Oh well, on with the tour!

A few weeks ago I had my pet cockroaches, Sonja and Silvia, visit the Dreamshelf! They are real live Madagascar hissing cockroaches, incredibly shy and gentle little animals! Enjoy! If you don't enjoy, you hate animals! You don't want to hate animals, do you???

Oh and all the pictures in this entry use flash... sniff...

First try. Sonja's like "Nope."

On one of the last days before I left Japan back in January, I did some major scouring of Akihabara to make sure not to miss out on any sweet doll stuff. Lo and behold, in a glass cabinet in a second-hand toy store was a nearly MIB Pullip Panda! She was an impulse buy, but when you see an old, sought-after Pullip right in front of you for 8000 yen, you buy that.

Her name is Lucky! While the seal on the box had been broken, there was no sign of the doll actually having been removed from the box.

While in Japan, I of course had to take advantage of AMAZON JAPAN and its cheapy cheap fast shipping! Out of all the new type four Pullip dolls, only one really made it to my wishlist, and I managed to get her for cheap from that very site.

Iiiit's Amarri! Yaaaaaay! Her name is Dolly!

So I was strolling around in a toy store when I came across a line of toys I'd never seen before...

..."I <3 VIP Pets"! They're cute little dogs with big heads and somewhat styleable hair. They were also fairly cheap! My imagination went wild with the fun I could have with one of those, so I brought Alex here home.

So Ichiban Kuji recently held lotteries for their new line of "Kyun Chara" Pokemon toys! Kyun Charas are basically just very super deformed and cute figures and stuff. I'd like to introduce you to their Snivy figure.

So before heading back to the university, I went and operated on Tilly to give her "sleep eyes" (I also went to Build a Bear and found some totally rad new furniture).

All the toy collectors down in toyville liked Littlest Pet Shop a lot! But we here at Riditoys simply did NOT!! That IS until their ever so slight revamp to look more cartoony and less saggy-faced!!!

LOOK at this chinchilla. Look at her. She is a bit wall-eyed, but isn't she the absolute CUTEST??

We return for the last outfit (so far) and a bunch of bonus shots!

Is this the first time I've photographed Voff outside her mascot suit? I think it is! She's been pondering her life choices, I think. This is the outfit called "Santorini"!

Continuing from yesterday!

Kalista has been kind enough to model the outfit titled "Coney Island" or "Corney Island" or "Unicorn Island"! I don't even know. The tights were not included in the set, by the way - it came with little socks instead. It also came with a bow/belt thing, but it wouldn't fit her obitsu body nicely.

So Groove. Inc recently started releasing outfit sets! I'd rather buy new outfits than new dolls, so I bought three! Let's cover "Giovanni" from the brand (Black) Peace Now.

Oliver, would you be a dear and model this outfit for me?
